Leslie Peterson of Decorah

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has arrested 69-year-old Leslie Peterson of Decorah and accused him of positioning a video camera in the women's bathroom at the Kendallville Campground.

Peterson faces 31 counts of Invasion of Privacy-Nudity, which are all serious misdemeanors.

Police say the incidents date back to 2007.  The Sheriff's Department is asking any woman who has been a guest at the campground since 2007 and used the shower area in the women's restroom to contact Deputy Sheriff Lee Goedken or Deputy Sheriff Dan Marx about their stay.  If any female campground guests were unable to meet with the Sheriff's Department on Sunday, July 4th, they are being asked to mail or e-mail a written statement that must include: name, age, address, current telephone number, number of times showered and any possible date and times.  Sheriff's deputies are also asking the public to send police information regarding the collection of campground fees, especially if no campground receipt was provided by the campground host.

Sheriff's deputies say they have found no evidence so far of any recordings or photographs being taken of the females who used the campground showers.  Police say their investigation thus far has showed the video footage was viewed in real time.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been called in to help with the case.  The Sheriff's Department was also assisted by the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office, the Winneshiek County Conservation Board and the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors.
