Decorah street projects have begun

Work on West Water Street

"No parking" signs have gone up on a number of blocks in Decorah, ahead of this year's street construction work.

City Engineer Lindsay Erdman says there will be work done on a number of blocks, first by grinding down some of the existing pavement before laying new pavement.  The street projects should involve only a few blocks at most, with short detours.

This year's one major street construction project will involve resurfacing Mechanic Street.  Work on that project will begin in late June or early July, with paving and street closings expected in August.

Part of State Street was milled Wednesday
