Decorah native is aiming to win an entrepreneurship contest

Decorah native and resident Britney Bakken has entered in the "Dream Big Grow Here" Grant Contest sponsored by the University of Northern Iowa and myentre.net.

The contest runs through Wednesday, June 30th.  As of Wednesday, June 23rd, Bakken's proposal was ranked second among all the proposals submitted.

Britney is starting a business, "Eat and Be Merry," that will cook and deliver meals to families and elderly.  She will focus on cooking with local and organic foods, providing nutritious and tasty meals to busy families and the elderly.  Bakken states, "Food is essential to our health and it should taste good too." 

The winner of the grant is determined by how many votes each entry receives.  Individuals may vote once per day until June 30th at
