The North Winneshiek School Board has scheduled a public hearing for 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 12th, on the renewal of the school district's instructional support levy. The board will vote on the levy after the hearing is completed.
The North Winneshiek instructional support levy generates about $150,000 a year for general fund expenses. The levy is funded by three sources--income surtax, property tax and state aid. The district has the option of renewing the instructional support levy every five years. The district's current instructional support ends in June 2011.
