It's a test of grocery shopping knowledge--and cardio endurance.  Decorah resident Karen Kerndt passed both tests Tuesday, claiming the grand prize in the Decorah Rotary Club's Grocery Grab.

She headed down the frozen food aisle first, then stopped at the meat counter before heading down the coffee aisle.  When her three minutes of time was over, she headed to the checkout stand--and learned she had won $242.02 in groceries.

Gift certificates of $25 were also won by Mae Schmitt of Jackson Junction, Robin Hines of Decorah, Arica Grimstad of Waukon and Lyle Otte of Decorah.

The contest is a promotion of the Decorah Rotary Club.  Proceeds from the fundraiser are used to pay for college scholarships given out by the club.  Almost $34,000 in scholarships has been awarded by the club.
