City council approves contracts for snow removal and for financial audits

The Decorah City Council has approved a contract with Bruening Rock Products for snow removal in 2010-2011.  The company will be paid $69.75 per hour for each dump truck used.

A contract with Hacker, Nelson C.P.A. for audit services also was approved Monday.  The firm will be paid $29,000 for 2010's city audit, $30,000 for 2011's audit and $31,000 for 2012's audit.

The city council also approved the appointments of Sherri Nichols, Chris Wyse and Andrea Beckendorf to the Decorah Library Board; and Norma Smith and Jim Burns to the Decorah Low Rent Housing Board.  Single vacancies still exist on the Low Rent Housing Board, the Historical Preservation Board and on the Human Rights Commission.  Anyone interested in applying for one of those spots should contact Decorah City Hall.
