Northeast Iowa Community College is recognizing the service of Board of Trustees member Jim Anderson of Decorah.

Anderson, the director of estate and gift planning at Luther College, is presently in his 11th year on the NICC Board.  He also is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Winneshiek County Bar Association, the Enterprise Zone Commission and Decorah Tree Board.

Fellow trustees recognized Anderson for his service by nominating him for the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees annual John P. Kibbie Trustee Award, which is given to a trustee that exhibits strong leadership and participation in community and college activities.

Anderson said, "NICC provides the type of education and training that people and businesses need and want. Whether an individual's goal is to earn an AA degree, transfer on for a four-year degree, take a continuing education course or enroll in a customized training program to improve their work skills, NICC is always there to meet his/her needs."
