Decorah High School students, faculty and staff on Wednesday morning received the school's prize for winning the Midwest Dairy Association's Chocolate Milk Contest.  Students drank 62,280 cartons of chocolate milk during the contest.

Midwest Dairy Association representative Keri Olson and former Iowa Dairy Princess and Decorah dairy producer Kaitlin Hanson presented the school with a check for $10,000, which will be used to purchase wellness equipment at the school.

Also present at Wednesday morning's school assembly was former NFL receiver Eddie Kennison, who told the audience his high school football coach used to preach to his athletes about drinking chocolate milk after practices.  "I thought he was crazy," Kennison admitted.  But the 13-year NFL veteran says now he understands people should "be mindful of what our body and and what we're putting into it."
