The Decorah Police Department says its investigation into the crash of a motorcycle and van near the Decorah Post Office Monday afternoon  is continuing.

Normally police issue a traffic report on an accident within 8-12 hours of the accident.  However, a complete report hasn't been written yet because there are still several unanswered questions about the accident--particularly which driver was at fault.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police officer Bill Nixon at 382-3667.

In the meantime, 64-year-old Jim Long remains in serious condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.  Long, who was the driver of the motorcycle, was thrown from the motorcycle by the force of the accident.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
