Decorah to lose its only video rental store

Decorah's only brick-and-mortal video rental business will be closing in the near future, as part of the nationwide closing of Movie Rental, Hollywood Video and Game Crazy

Movie Gallery Inc initially planned to close just one-third of its 2,415 U.S. stores.  But according to a U.S. bankruptcy court filing, Movie Gallery decided to close all its stores after one of its loans went into default.

The Decorah Movie Rental store will close its doors after liquidating its stock, but no date for the closing has been announced. 

decorahnews.com contacted Movie Gallery's headquarters in Oregon on Monday, but a recorded message said the company is not responding to most media inquiries.
