Additional Decorah organizations could lose their tax-exempt status

It's not just 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in Decorah that could lose their tax-exempt status if they don't file an IRS Form 990 by the end of the day on Monday, May 17th, but several other non-profit organizations organized under other IRS revenue codes, like 501(c)(6).

In fact, the National Center for Charitable Statistics has a total of 35 Decorah non-profit organizations on its caution list.  However, the group points out "Filing status is based on NCCS analysis of the latest information from the IRS Business Master File, which is approximately 1 month old, and weekly updates from the IRS list of 990-N e-Postcard filers".

Listed as in danger of losing their tax-exempt status at the end of the day Monday are: Black Earth Collaborative Arts Company; Burr Oak Cemetery Association, Canoe Cemetery Association, Decorah Rotary Club Scholarship Foundation Inc.; Decorah Senior Citizens Center; Freeport Cemetery Association, Knights Templar of the USA, 12 Beauseant Commandery; Luther College Chapter of American Guild of Organists; Luther College Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society;  Luther College Pi Kappa Lambda Epsilon Omega Music Society; Madison 4-H Club; Madison Lutheran Cemetery Association; National Association of Letter Carriers, Chapter 0445; Northeast Iowa Board of Realtors, Inc; Northeast Iowa Fox & Coon Assn.; Northeast Iowa People for Animal Welfare; 1903-1909 Early Ford Registry Inc.; Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Winneshiek County Chapter; Voluntary Employees Beneficiary Association for Storypeople Inc.'s Employees; Washington Future Scholars Fund; Washington Prairie Peppers; Winneshiek County Dairy Club; and the Winneshiek County Bankers Association.

Other Decorah non-profit organizations in danger of losing their tax-exempt status if they do not file a Form 990 in the future are:
August 15th: Winneshiek Saddle Club;
November 15th: League of Women Voters of Iowa, Upper Iowa Chapter, North Winneshiek Education Association, Imaginarium Inc.; Luther College Student Chapter Association for Computing Machinery; Luther College Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society; and the Winneshiek County Physical Therapy Center. 
January 15th: Delta Phi Alpha National Honorary German Fraternity; the Northeast Iowa Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives and Amvets Post 0096.
February 15th: Communication Workers of America, Chapter 7109 and Winneshiek County Cattlemen's Association
