Decorah Police say they handled several accidents over the weekend.
On Friday afternoon a three-car accident occurred at Highway 9 and Millenium Drive. Police say 30-year-old Cheri Lane of Decorah turned into the path of a car driven by 66-year-old William Rude of Decorah. Her car then spun around and struck a car driven by 36-year-old Lisa Baumler of West Union, who was waiting to turn right onto Highway 9. All three cars involved in the accident were totally destroyed. No one was injured, but Lane was ticketed for failure to yield the right-of-way.
On Friday evening, cars driven by 29-year-old Alison McLaine of Calmar and 16-year-old Danielle Christopher of Decorah collided at Highway 52 and Pole Line Road, causing $2,100 in damages. In a second accident at roughly the same time, a trailer being towed by 46-year-old Ellen Althouse of Decorah sideswiped a car driven by 69-year-old Carmen Hovden of Ridgeway on Pulpit Road Road, causing $2,000 in damages.
