Decorah High School visual arts student Kasi Misseldine has won the 4th Congressional District Art Competition.

Her pen and ink drawing, "Steyer Stone Bridge," was selected by Representative Tom Latham as part of the nationwide Congressional Art Competiton.  The drawing will be on display for the next year in the walkway between the U.S. House of Representatives office building and the U.S. Capitol.

Winners of the Congressional Art Competition receive two free plane tickets to Washington, D.C., courtesy of Southwestern Airlines.  The awards ceremony will be held this year on Wednesday, June 17th.  Kasi is also eligible to receive a $1,500 scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design should she apply and be accepted there for admission.

Kasi drew the Steyer Stone Bridge located near Twin Springs as part of an assignment in 2-Dimensional class taught by Elizabeth Lorentzen at the high school.  The drawing is featured on the cover of this year's DHS Art Club calendar and as the heading for the month of February.

Kasi is the daughter of Tom and Karen Misseldine of Decorah.
