Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Who's in charge of the flags at the Decorah welcome sign?"

John e-mails Mr. Answer Person: "Is any organization or individual actually responsible for the maintenance of the Decorah sign at the entrance at Highway 9 and Montgomery Street?  The condition of the flags there is disgraceful and the landscaping only slightly better.  If Decorah cannot afford to display flags that are not faded, torn and tattered, then please take them down until you can."

The flags were already scheduled to be replaced.  They are a donation from the family of long-time Decorah community volunteer Gary Svenson.  The flags are replaced on a regular schedule, but faded more quickly than normal this winter.
