Seven Winneshiek County students pursuing health care professions have received scholarships from the Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary's scholarship committee presented scholarships to Christina Gaard of Decorah, attending University of Iowa for Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters in Public Health; Amber Shimek of Ridgeway, attending University of Iowa College of Dentistry; Michala Lensing of Calmar, attending Loras College for Athletic Training; Lydia Lofte of Ossian, attending Upper Iowa University for Athletic Training; Jena Halverson of Ossian, attending NICC for Respiratory Therapy; Megan Lansing of Ossian, attending NICC for Nursing; and Alanda Mashek of Ossian, attending North Iowa Area Community College for Nursing.
Since 1973, the Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to Winneshiek County students pursuing health care professions.
