Mail scams are continuing

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says it has continued to receive information from county residents regarding mail scams. 

Sheriff's deputies are warning the public that mail with no return address on the envelope can be a scam.  They say the latest scam letters coming from Canada might be an indication that some area residents have fallen victim to the letters.

If anyone believes they have been a victim of a mail solicitation, they are asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 563-382-4268.
