New Minowa Players performances of "The Light in the Piazza" begin Thursday at the NMP Theatre at 906 S. Mill Street in Decorah. Tickets to all performances have been sold out.
Decorah High School Vocal Music Director Jason Rausch sings the tenor role of Fabrizio Naccarelli, a handsome young Florentine. St. Ambrose University graduate Emily Kurash sings the soprano role of Clara Johnson, an American tourist. KDEC Station Manager Jeni Grouws appears as Clara's mother, Margaret. Valley of Elgin teach Rick Scheffert appears as Fabrizio's father, Signor Naccarelli.
"The Light in the Piazza" is funded in part by William Becvar in memory of Raymond Mikesh, Jr., and by T-Bock's Sports Bar & Grill, JD's House of Wine & Spirits, and Latham Furniture. It is produced by arrangement with Turner Entertainment Co., with book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel.
