Two arrested on burglary charges

Sheriff's deputies from Winneshiek, Allamakee and Clayton counties took part in a search in Postville over the weekend--and two people are now in custody as a result.

Police say the search at 219 Tilden Street in Postville recovered evidence involved in an investigation into several thefts, burglaries and attempted burglaries in Northeast Iowa.

Jerritt Whalen of rural Decorah and Shawn Sprenger of Postville were taken into custody following the search and charged with third degree burglary.

Police say their investigation into the crimes is continuing.
