A Decorah High School student has won the Ag Broadcasting Career Development Event at the Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference held in Des Moines.
Sarah Brandt, the daughter of Loren and Janine Brandt of Decorah, won the contest on Thursday. Brandt, a member of the Decorah FFA, placed first out of 12 finalists selected from the 225 FFA chapters across the state of Iowa.
Brandt was allotted thirty minutes to create a five minute radio program that included a self-created commercial.
This is the the second state champion in a row for the Decorah FFA chapter and advisor, Rick Twedt. Last year, Shelby Cornelius won the state FFA Creed contest and placed in the top sixteen at the National FFA Convention.
