Decorah High School student wins $1,000 scholarship

A Decorah High School student has earned a $1,000 scholarship from the Iowa Cattlemen's Foundation.

Molly O'Reagan was one of three high school seniors to receive the scholarship from the Cattlemen.  She received the money because of her performance at the Youth Beef Team scholarship competition at Ames.

Iowa Cattlemen's Foundation 2009 president Dave Petty, who was one of the judges for the scholarship competition, said  "The competitors presented us with a problem this year but it was a good one, as we had six deserving kids.  We decided, for the first time and possibly the last, to award three $1,000 scholarships and three $500 scholarships."
