Winneshiek County takes part in emergency drill

Winneshiek County participated in a region-wide functional disaster drill on Friday--part of a larger drill for a region of 18 counties across northern Iowa from Estherville to Decorah.

Winneshiek County Public Health Department spokesperson Nancy Sacquitne says the drill included tests of communications plans and pandemic plans.

The test involved hospital officials, emergency government officials, public health officials and others testing their response to a simulated flu pandemic, including setting up a dispensing site for vaccinations.
