Have you ever noticed those people holding flags when you run across highway construction projects? Well, there actually is such a thing as a "Certified Construction Flagger."

On April 13th from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in room 126 of NICC Calmar's Ag Technologies Building, instructor Dan Neenan will teach the principles of flagging, basic flagging techniques, procedures and safety.

People who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate that is valid for three years, as well as an Iowa Flagger handbook, workbook and Part 6 of the "Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices."

To register for the course, call NICC at (800) 728-2256, extension 399. For more information, contact Mary Steen, NICC continuing education program manager, at extension 341.
