City council approves application for repairs to Vesterheim building

The Decorah City Council has approved a C-3 Design application for repairs to the building owned by the Vesterheim Museum and Cary's Machine and Welding.

Lindsay Erdman says the plan calls for removing the parapet on the building because it has been shifting. Crews would then put stabilizing stars into the brick wall as a way to address structural problems that have been discovered.

The city council gave its unanimous approval to the plan.
