Warren Leeps is honored

Decorah Police Captain Warren Leeps was recognized Monday night by the Decorah City Council for his 30 years of service to the community. Leeps is retiring from the police force in April.

In his 30 years as a member of the Decorah Police Department, Leeps has helped the department with its computer system and has done numerous community education programs. He has also been a longtime member of the Northeast Iowa Drug Task Force and has worked on methamphetamine awareness in the community.

"I have enjoyed what I've done," Leeps told city council members Monday night.
