Due to overwhelming demand, NICC is offering another artistic welding class for people interested in learning how to weld their own outdoor art creations.
Artist and welder Corey Buchheit will teach Yard Art from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 20th, May 4th and May 11th in the Ag Technologies (John Deere) welding lab on the Calmar campus. Class will not be held on April 27th.
Participants will have an opportunity to create their own garden and yard artwork, such as turning a discarded roller chain into an ornamental chain flower. Participants learn to express their artistic talent while applying welding techniques. Students should wear old clothes, safety glasses and sturdy work gloves.
To register for Yard Art, call NICC at (800) 728-2256, extension 399. For more information, call Mary Steen, continuing education program manager, at extension 341.
