The Decorah Fire Department responded to a call at 712 West Main this morning at about 9:00 a.m. When they arrived the building was fully engulfed in fire. Occupants of the two apartments in the house were home at the time of the fire, but were able to safely exit prior to the arrival of police and fire officials. The house was destroyed in the fire, and a house next door received heat damage. Darin Bolson was listed as the owner,and a resident,of the house.
The State Fire Marshal's office was investigating the cause of the fire at the time of this report. The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by Decorah Police, Aquila Gas Company, Alliant Energy, Winneshiek Medical Center Paramedic Service, the Decorah Street Department and the Tri-County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
