Winneshiek Medical Center and Mayo Health System announced today that Linda Klimesh has been appointed chief nursing officer at Winneshiek Medical Center.

Klimesh has been employed by Winneshiek Medical Center since 1978, most recently as director of quality management and interim chief nursing officer. Klimesh received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Upper Iowa University and her associate nursing degree from Rochester Community College, and has numerous professional and community affiliations.

Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Administrative Officer Dan Werner said, "Linda has a wealth of nursing experience and a deep understanding of where Winneshiek Medical Center has been as a health organization, and how it must evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our patients."

Klimesh has spent much of her career focusing on health care quality and patient safety, prompting her to become a state Baldrige examiner and leader of the recent Winneshiek Medical Center Baldrige application process. Werner adds, "Linda's vision for health care is forward thinking and patient-centered. We are pleased she is joining the administrative team."

Klimesh will begin her new responsibilities as chief nursing officer April 19th.
