Decorah HS students do well at Individual Speech Contest

Decorah High School has tied its record for the most students advancing from the District Individual Speech Contest to the State Individual Speech Contest.

Out of 54 performances at the District Contest, 40 qualified for the State Contest on Saturday, March 13th, at Starmont High School.

Members of the 10th-12th Grade Team receiving a 1 rating and continuing on to state:
Radio News: Jordan Tietz
Acting: Allie Canoy, Kari Peterson, Tayler Roberson.
Improvisation: Alex Carney, Montana McCabe
Spontaneous Speaking: Scotty Hendricks, Montana McCabe and John Werner.
Poetry: Marea Holkesvik, Rachel Rattenborg and Paige Rustad
Original Oratory: Scotty Hendricks, Jackie Hoyme
Solo Musical Theater: Sarah Brandt, Kaia Miller
