Repair work is scheduled to begin this month to the building that houses ArtHaus and Cary's Machine and Welding.
ArtHaus representatives say they are relocating their classes and activities to other locations during March and will set up temporary headquarters at the Dayton House.
Repairs to the facade of the 1870s building are expected to be completed early in April. Some reinforcement work was done last fall on the facade of the building, but crews had to wait for warmer weather to do more extensive maintenance on the whole structure. The scaffolding in front of the building was set up during the winter as an extra safety precaution.
The ArtHaus space is owned by Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, while Cary's Machine and Welding owns its own space.
