A drive to raise funds for relief for victims of the Haiti earthquake has raised over $15,000 so far in Decorah.

The Luther College Student Senate's newly-formed Emergency Relief Committee has helped to organize the distribution of contribution buckets around Decorah and Luther College. It has also sponsored a fundraising event at T-Bock's, as well as bake sales and other fundraisers.

Spokesperson William Montoya said Wednesday night the group has collected over $15,000 so far--and is still collection donations. The money will be given to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for its Haiti relief programs.
