The Decorah Public Library is asking area children to help get ready for its summer reading program by participating in the design of the official summer reading program T-shirt.
"Make a Splash—Read!" is the theme for this year. The summer reading program starts the week of June 7th and runs for six consecutive weeks, ending July 15th. Children ages 3 to 10 are invited to participate in the T-shirt design contest. The design should include "Make a Splash—Read!" and "Decorah Public Library-2010."
Designs can include up to three colors on a white 8 ˝ by 11" piece of paper. They must be submitted to the library by Monday, March 22nd. The child's name and phone number should appear on the back of the paper. One shirt design will be chosen among the submitted creations to be the official summer reading program T-shirt for 2010.
Designs can be delivered or mailed to Decorah Public Library, 202 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA 52101, Attention: Sally. Questions can be directed to Children's Librarian Sally Stromseth at (563) 382-3717.
