A software company with facilities in Decorah is getting new ownership.
Ortivus Inc. US, which provides software to help Emergency Medical Service clients, is being bought by TriTech Software systems, one of the largest public safety software companies, with headquarters in San Diego.
The tentative purchase was announced Thursday. TriTech says the acquisition of Ortivus is subject to a number of closing conditions, but expects those conditions to be met within two weeks.
The purchase is the latest change for the local software company, which started in West Union as Sweet Computer Systems, then moved to Decorah and was purchased by Ortivus. The news release by TriTech did not mention any future plans, except to say the acquisition "solidifies TriTech's position as one of the largest and most diversified software solution providers in the market."
