Decorah Fareway will do significant remodeling this fall

Changes are coming to the Decorah Fareway--perhaps as soon as this fall.

Store manager Dave Noack says the company is planning an extensive remodeling of the 21,000 square foot store, with new upright shelf coolers and a number of other changes. The construction date is tentatively set for September or October.

Another feature of the remodeling will be the expansion of the grocery store's liquor department. Fareway has been selling beer and wine, but will add the sale of liquor after the remodeling is completed. The Decorah City council on Monday night approved the new Class E liquor license.
