Mechanic Street is "Number one priority" for this year's road projects

Expect to see some improvements made to Mechanic Street in Decorah this summer.

City Engineer Lindsay Erdman says if all goes according to plans, crews will do an asphalt overlay on the street. Erdman stresses that the project is NOT a complete reconstruction of Mechanic Street. A city committee decided against going that route so it would have money in future years for projects on other major roads in Decorah, such as Heivly Street.
