New Minowa Players offering scholarship

Decorah's community theatre group, New Minowa Players, is again offering a scholarship this year. It's the 20th year in a row at least one scholarship will be presented to a member of the senior class of Decorah, South Winneshiek or Turkey-Valley High School. The recipient must be someone who has shown an interest in some area of drama and intends to pursue that involvement in an accredited college or vocational school.

Application forms for the $200 Scholarship may be obtained from the head of the Drama Department or the guidance office of the participating schools. The application must be submitted for review by the Selection Committee no later than March 20th.

25 scholarships have been awarded in the past 15 years. The recipient of the 2009 Scholarship was Cassandra Birkicht from Turkey Valley High School.
