Whitsitt selected for "VIP Women of the Year" award

The National Association of Professional Women has selected NICC TRiO/Upward Bound Director Katherine Whitsitt receive one of its "VIP Women of the Year" awards. Whitsitt provides leadership to Upward Bound at Northeast Iowa Community College's Calmar campus. TRiO programs serve low-income, first generation and disabled students. The program assists them through the educational pipeline from middle school through graduate school.

VIP Women of the Year are selected in recognition of the strides they have made in their respective industries, their

outstanding leadership, their professional achievements and for displaying the highest level of support of NAPW's commitment to networking and community involvement.

Whitsitt has served as the Calmar campus TRiO-Upward Bound director since 2006.
