Spillville Mayor Michael Klimesh announces his candidacy for State Assembly

Spillville Mayor Michael T. Klimesh is announcing his candidacy for District 15 of the Iowa State House of Representatives.

Klimesh says he's running based on the premise that government should work to serve the people, not the other way around. He states he's "not a politician, just a hard-working guy who wants to make a difference" and says he is well aware of the realities that face many Iowans in these tough economic times.

Born and raised in Northeast Iowa, the son of a small business owner and general manager of a growing small business himself, he says seen hard times and the turmoil they cause.

Klimesh and his wife, Kate, have one son, Benjamin.

Iowa House District 15 includes all of Howard and Chickasaw counties and the southwestern half of Winneshiek County including Calmar, Ossian, Fort Atkinson and Spillville.
