Calmar Fire Department responds to apartment fire

The Calmar Fire Department says it was called out to the Whiskey Grove building in downtown Calmar around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. The fire was determined to be coming from an apartment in the rear of the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Iowa Fire Marshals Office.

Calmar firefighters were assisted by the Decorah Fire Department, Ossian Fire Department, Ft. Atkinson Fire Department, Calmar Street Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, Iowa State Patrol, Winneshiek County Ambulance and American Red Cross.
