Two car accident does $6,000 in damages

Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two-car accident on Highway 52 two miles north of Decorah on Monday night.

Police say 20-year-old Mitchell Demers of Rice Lake, Wisconsin lost control of his car and crossed over the centerline on the snow-covered road. 24-year-old Bryce Bentley of Fayette, who was driving in the opposite direction, swerved to avoid Demers' car, but the two vehicles collided on the passenger's sides. Neither driver was injured and no one was ticketed. The crash did $6,000 in damages.
