FEMA makes revisions to Decorah flood map

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has sent a letter to the City of Decorah approving a request by the city for a change in Decorah's flood map.

The latest map had property along Commerce Drive and Clearview Drive listed as in Zone A--the most flood-prone area. But city officials protested that flood waters do not affect that part of the city.

FEMA officials have agreed with the city, so the property now will be removed from Zone A.
