Waukon man to appear on nationally televised game show

Waukon resident Dwight Jones is scheduled to be a contestant on the CMT Network game show "The Singing Bee" at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 5th.
Contestants compete using their knowledge of song lyrics to score points. The show's motto is: "You don't have to sing it well, you just have to sing it right".

Jones' wife, Danette, learned that the game show was holding auditions in Chicago in mid-October. She urged her husband to try out as a contestant. The Chicago audition went well--then Jones was called a week or two later and invited to Hollywood for a taping of the show.

Jones signed an agreement not to disclose how he did on the program. "The Singing Bee" starts its new season January 15th, with Jones appearing on the fourth program--on February 5th. However, CMT Network has already begun using video of Jones in some of the commercials promoting the new season.
