Decorah Police say a car-bicycle accident on Montgomery Street New Year's Eve caused minor injuries. Police say 45-year-old Vicky Protsman of Decorah was headed south on Montgomery Street around 4:30 p.m. when Curtis Spilde of Decorah drove his bicycle from Commerce Drive onto Montgomery Street. Protsman swerved to avoid Spilde and hit her brakes, but her car struck the rear of Spilde's bike.

Spilde received some cuts to his head, but refused medical attention. He was taken to his home by police officers. Protsman was not ticketed.
